I am passionate about helping you to improve your health. My plan is to get you better and feeling good as quickly as possible. Not treat you for ages and ages and never tell you what you could be doing to help yourself.
You don't want to be a patient for life After we have worked on the main presenting issue, I will need to see you less often. Unless something else happens, or for a monthly/quarterly top up. I will explain to you what is happening with you, how acupuncture can help you and what you can do to help. Between us we will get you sorted, it's a team effort . Please call me anytime if you have any questions. 'Treatment of the part should not be attempted without treatment of the whole" |
Luke James:
Hi
My name is Luke.
Always having a interest in public health, I first completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Bio-Science’s in 2007 from Sheffield University and spent a period of 15 years working within the biomedical laboratory field.
Although delivering a patient orientated service was fulfilling, I desired a career with greater patient interaction.
I became aware of the concepts used with Traditional Chinese Medicine through the practice of Yang Mian kung fu along with Qi Gong meditation, which for me created a natural levitation towards Acupuncture when I was looking at progressing my working career.
I completed a 4 year degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in NZ and in addition to this a diploma of Tuina (Chinese medical massage).
The Tuina allows me to be more hands-on to combine Acupuncture with soft-tissue work.
When I’m not working in the clinic treating people, I like to spend time with my beautiful partner, children and dog enjoying our beautiful surroundings or training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Living in Queenstown for 10 years prior to 2016, leaving for Wellington to study, Queenstown and Central Otago has always felt like home and I am extremely excited to be returning to the area to treat the local population. With the desire of delivering an effective and efficient service to my clients, I’m looking forward to treating you in the near future.

Here's a great video from one of my colleagues explaining how acupuncture works from a Western Scientific point of view.
We can discus both Eastern and Western theories and what to expect at your first visit.
ACC provider
Which means that if you have an injury a large portion of your treatment fee may be subsidised.
ACC funds us to treat a range of injuries, pains and conditions.
Including: Back, hip, knee, sciatica, neck, shoulder, elbow, ankle, feet, wrist, hand, arm, fingers, hands...
Note: ACC does not let Acupuncturists do the initial forms to generate an ACC number.
Unfortunately, they will now only cover us for a maximum of 12 treatments within 3 months of your first appointment with us.
You will need to see a Doctor, Physiotherapist, Osteopath or Chiropractor first to generate your ACC
number and to get your injury in the ACC system.
Then you can bring that number to your first appointment with us.
How much will treatment cost me?
If you have an ACC accepted injury (i.e. have an active ACC number):
All appointments are $60
Private (non ACC) appointments:
Initial - $120
Follow ups - $110
We accept cash or EFTPOS.
We also accept Credit Cards, Paywave, iphone etc - Note: there is a 3% surcharge for these payments.
